Seattle Body Image Group (Women Only) :

"Embrace Your Body... and the Whole You"

The group is currently in session for May 22- June 26, 2018.  Please contact me if you are interested in joining the next round! 

The Body Image Group is co-lead by Registered Dietitian Mya Kwon, MPH, RD, CD and Mental Health Counselor Mai-Anh Anderson, MAEd, LMHC.

  • Cost: Two payments of $175, or one full payment of $350 for the entire 6 weeks 
  • Location: Seattle
  • Day and time: Tuesday evenings. 5:30pm-6:45pm for 6 weeks.
 

"Embrace Your Body" (A 6-week Body Image Group)

You can benefit from this group program if you:

  • Are tired of self-negativity and self-hatred and want to learn how to foster more self-love, self-compassion and self-care
  • Want a better understanding of where your body image story originates from
  • Want to understand your specific triggers for your negative body image and what you can do about them
  • Want to discover and learn how to strengthen your positive inner voice
  • Want to develop tools and resources to counter your negative self body talk
  • Want to learn about the truths about the "myths" regarding weight/size and health
  • Want to increase motivation for developing a happier and healthier relationship with your body regardless of your size now
  • Want to learn ways to take care of your whole self (emotional, physical, spiritual and relational) without worrying about your body all the time
  • Want to feel more comfortable in your own skin

Results from anonymous surveys of past participants:

  • 80% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that "My self compassion for myself and my body has increased."

  • 80% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that "The frequency of my negative self body talk has decreased."

  • 100% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that "I have a better understanding of where my body image story originates from."

  • 100% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that "I have discovered my positive inner voice."

  • 100% of participants strongly agreed that "I have confidence that my positive inner voice will continue to grow stronger."

  • 100% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that "I am more motivated to accept, respect and take care of my body."

  • 100% of participants agreed or strongly agreed that "I have more tools and resources to counter my negative self body talk."
